Shezad Dawood Studio is seeking a paid intern to support its curatorial, development and administrative work. This is an opportunity to join a small, dynamic team and work closely with artist Shezad Dawood, the Studio Director and the Head of Operations.

The successful candidate will assist with research, archiving, funding applications, editing and proofreading across different registers, website updates and international travel arrangements.

The position is offered on a three-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension into a permanent part-time role. The intern will work three days per week, from 10am to 6pm, at the studio in Hackney Wick.

Requirements

Essential:

• An MA qualification, preferably in curating, art history or arts business; or a BA in one of these areas with at least one year of professional experience in the visual arts or a general workplace
• Demonstrable experience in exhibition-making or arts events management
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Experience managing budgets
• The ability to multitask, meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
• A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues
• Excellent verbal communication skills and a sociable, proactive attitude
• Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Apple and Google suites
• Experience using and updating databases and websites
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to learn quickly

Desirable:

• Experience of fundraising and writing funding applications
• Experience managing social media
