Parasol unit foundation for contemporary art seeks to recruit for the following part-time position:

Gallery Manager

We are looking for a joint Gallery Manager, capable of performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Coordination of installation and de-installation of exhibitions.
• Organisation of shipping of art works and coordination with lenders.
• Maintenance of gallery, office and outdoor spaces.
• Preparation of the gallery space for exhibitions, including preparation and painting of walls.
• Sourcing and stocking of technical equipment and materials.
• Facilitating technical enquiries from other members of staff.

The successful candidate must be a team-player with a flexible attitude and should possess the following skills:

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Experience with art handling and the installation of art works.
• Working knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical wiring and other relevant technical skills.
• Familiarity with the operation of heating, cooling, access and other building systems.
• Knowledge of relevant suppliers and repairers.
• An ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.

Ideally, but not essentially, the candidate will have a passion for contemporary art.
