The role involves cataloging, archiving, and managing both analog and digital photographic collections, contributing to digital collection management, and supporting research services for the international scholarly community.
Key Responsibilities
- Organize, catalog, and archive Photothek and legacy holdings.
- Conduct formal and subject-based cataloging of analog and digital photographs.
- Support the development of digital collection and knowledge management systems.
- Maintain and enhance databases (SQL, Wikibase), provide data exports, and collaborate with project partners.
- User support and handling inquiries; supervise assistants and interns.
Minimum Qualifications
- Relevant degree (FH-Diplom, Bachelor) or equivalent professional experience in information science, art history, or related fields.
- Experience with databases, data transformation, and technologies such as SQL, Wikidata/Wikibase, SPARQL.
- Knowledge of bibliographic/archival exchange formats (ideally LIDO) and art-historical terminologies.
- Strong German language skills; good English proficiency.
- Ability to work independently and reliably, strong communication and teamwork skills, flexibility, and service orientation.
