The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Curatorial Research Fellowshipfocused on Latinx Art, as part of the institution-wide initiative ¡Aquí Estamos!. This initiative is dedicated to transforming the representation and study of Latinx art within a major museum context.
The fellow will work closely with the Latin American and Latino Art Department, engaging in collections-based research, curatorial practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Responsibilities include surveying MFAH’s Latinx holdings, identifying acquisition opportunities, contributing to public programming and interpretation, and participating in cohort-wide seminars and workshops.
Eligibility
- PhD in art history or related field (conferred between May 31, 2020 – May 31, 2025); ABDs with relevant expertise may apply
- Demonstrated expertise in Latinx art; familiarity with Latin American art is a plus
- Experience in object-based research and curatorial work
- Strong writing, communication, and collaborative skills
