The Yale University Art Gallery invites applications for the Cullman–Payson Postdoctoral Fellowship, designed for emerging scholars considering careers in museum education or academic engagement. Reporting to the Bradley Associate Curator of Academic Affairs, the fellow will gain hands-on experience in object-based teaching, university-level curricular programs, and the development of pedagogy workshops.
A key component of this fellowship includes participating in the Wurtele Gallery Teacher training program, learning art-based pedagogies, and contributing to innovative teaching resources for faculty, postdocs, and graduate students.
Eligibility
- PhD in art history, visual studies, archaeology, anthropology, education, or a related field.
- At least one year of experience teaching with objects in a museum setting.
- Strong interdisciplinary teaching interest and commitment to inclusive practices.
- Must reside in the greater New Haven area and work on-site five days a week.
- Some evening and weekend work may be required.
