The Museo Nacional del Prado, in collaboration with the Fundación Gondra Barandiarán, announces two postdoctoral research fellowships as part of their program aimed at advancing art historical research. These three-month fellowships provide an opportunity for researchers to contribute to the study of the Prado’s collections and history, enhancing academic knowledge of one of the world’s most renowned museums.
Objective:
The program facilitates two research residencies for PhD holders to conduct research at the Prado’s Study Center. Fellows will have access to the museum’s collections, archives, library, and academic community, along with dedicated workspace and research resources.
Fellowship Types and Stipend:
- Senior Fellowship: Open to PhD holders aged 40 and above, offering €4,000 per month for a total of €12,000 over three months.
- Junior Fellowship: Open to PhD holders under the age of 40, offering €3,000 per month for a total of €9,000 over three months.
Application Requirements:
Candidates must hold a PhD in Art History or related Humanities disciplines and be proficient in Spanish. They are required to submit a research project (max 1,000 words), demonstrating its relevance to the Prado’s collections or history. Additional application materials include academic transcripts, letters of recommendation, and a curriculum vitae. The selected researchers will be required to present their research in seminars and contribute to academic activities within the Prado.
