About Artangel
Artangel is a leading contemporary arts organization known for commissioning ambitious projects that push creative boundaries. The Producer role is central to Artangel’s production team, working on innovative physical and digital commissions with a commitment to fostering groundbreaking art experiences.
Role Overview
The Producer will work with the Head of Production, assisting commissioned artists in developing and executing new projects. This role includes managing the Assistant Producer, overseeing budgets and schedules, coordinating logistics, and ensuring effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and development for future projects and manage site-related partnerships.
- Provide project management, from schedules and budgets to Health and Safety documentation.
- Coordinate resources, equipment, and staffing, including recruitment, travel, and visa requirements.
- Manage installations and serve as the first point of contact for project-related events.
- Oversee Front of House management, public program events, and interpretive materials.
- Line manage the Assistant Producer and Production Interns.
Essential Experience
- 5+ years in producing visual art, performance, film, music, or theatre projects.
- Experience presenting artworks in diverse settings, budget and schedule management, drafting agreements, and liaising with stakeholders.
- Proven leadership and direct artist collaboration experience.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong familiarity with UK galleries, project management, and installation logistics.
- Effective communicator with strong organizational skills and a proactive, innovative approach.
- Knowledge of technology for moving image presentations and enthusiasm for the arts.
