Role Overview
The Faculty of Letters at the Université de Genève seeks a specialist in Art History of the Early Modern Period(16th–18th centuries) with a diverse methodological approach and expertise in European and non-European contexts. The appointee will lead undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate courses, supervise master’s and doctoral theses, and contribute to the academic and administrative life of the department and faculty.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching:
- Conduct lectures and seminars at the bachelor, master, and postgraduate levels.
- Supervise master’s theses and doctoral dissertations.
- Research:
- Develop national and international research projects in the field of Early Modern Art History.
- Secure external research funding.
- Administrative and Organizational Duties:
- Contribute to the management and organization of the Department of Art History and Musicology.
- Participate in faculty-level committees and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Doctorate in Humanities (Doctorat ès lettres) and habilitation, or equivalent qualifications.
- Proven teaching and research leadership experience.
- Publications in recognized international journals.
- Proficiency in French (language of instruction); knowledge of German, Italian, or English is desirable.
