Assistant Professor of Teaching – Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries
Overview
The Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries (DACI) is an interdisciplinary and innovative learning hub encompassing areas such as film and television, animation, museums and curating, art history, digital arts, and immersive media. We offer comprehensive theoretical study and practical training, preparing students for careers in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area’s thriving creative and cultural industries.

Position Details
DACI is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Teaching to contribute to teaching in the areas of Art History, Museum Studies, or Curating, starting in August 2024. The appointee is expected to:
- Teach relevant courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- Supervise postgraduate and/or undergraduate capstone projects
- Contribute to the Department’s service and development
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the University
Responsibilities
The appointee will teach a wide range of subjects, including “Critical Perspectives in Art History,” “Provenance Research,” “Arts of Europe,” and other art history electives, along with thesis supervision. This role also involves academic advising and student recruitment.
Qualifications
Applicants should have a strong PhD in Art History or Museum Studies and meet the following key criteria:
- A strong teaching record
- Ability to teach and design courses in Art History, Museum Studies, or Curating at both BA and MA levels
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for meaningful collaborations in a liberal arts setting
Salary and Benefits
The conditions of appointment are competitive, with remuneration commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity, and incoming passage and baggage allowance for eligible appointees.
