The State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart (ABK Stuttgart) – with 22 degree programs, 32 workshops, around 850 students, and a strong focus on interdisciplinarity, diversity, and openness – invites applications for a Professorship in Art Mediation and Aesthetics.
The position seeks a nationally and internationally recognized figure who combines a theoretical background in aesthetics with curatorial, educational, and/or artistic-interventionist practice. Assigned to both the Fine Arts and Art Studies–Aesthetics departments, teaching will primarily serve Fine Arts and Art Education students but will also be open to all programs in a transdisciplinary manner. Duties include undergraduate teaching, supervision of doctoral research, and participation in academic self-governance.
Requirements:

Completed academic or artistic degree and a PhD in aesthetics or philosophy of art (preferably philosophy).

Proven experience in mediation and educational processes in the visual arts, supported by curatorial, artistic, or art mediation projects.

Research activity beyond the doctorate, evidenced by publications and participation in conferences/symposia.

Very good German; teaching experience at university level.
