The Program Director provides strategic leadership for United States Artists’ national programmes, overseeing fellowships, artist services, research initiatives, partnerships, and infrastructure projects that strengthen support for artists across the country.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the USA Fellowship programme and artist support services.
• Develop new artist-centred initiatives and strategic partnerships.
• Oversee programme budgets, evaluation, and implementation.
• Manage and mentor programme staff.
• Represent the organisation with funders, policymakers, and cultural partners.
• Advance national artist infrastructure through research and policy initiatives.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of leadership experience in arts administration or a related field.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and complex programmes.
• Knowledge of artist support systems, cultural policy, or philanthropy.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to equity, accessibility, and inclusion.
