Do you possess a deep enthusiasm for developing and executing public programs that have strong relevance to contemporary art, culture, and daily life? If so, we encourage you to apply to join our dynamic public engagement team and contribute to the creation of outstanding presentations that cater to a diverse range of audiences.
As a key member of our core team, you will assume a leading role in developing and delivering a variety of public programs targeting audiences ranging from inquisitive and first-time visitors to those well immersed in the arts and its discourses. Additionally, you will oversee mediation activities, aligning them with Kunsthall Trondheim’s overall engagement strategies and related exhibitions, including learning, and community-building events.
As you will work directly with the Director and Kunsthall Trondheim’s curatorial staff as well as with artists, thinkers from various fields, and other partners, collaboration and teamwork are central aspects of this position. In addition to working together in a collegial environment, you are able to take the initiative and can handle the responsibilities of working independently. Your extensive knowledge of contemporary art and ideas, as well as their significance in today’s society, will be integral to this process.
The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of contemporary culture and innovative approaches to its presentation in Norwegian institutions and beyond. Furthermore, you should have a proven track record of creating exceptional public engagement programs not limited to artists’ talks, symposiums, workshops, small concerts, film screenings, and other community-building and cultivation events such as openings, and other celebrations. As you will also take an active role in marketing and broadcasting these events so as to reach, attract, and grow a diverse audience in Trondheim, the ability to organize and present information in a manner that’s clear and understandable for people of all walks of life is just as important as knowing how to speak to a specialized audience. To this end, fluency in a Scandinavia language as well as English is preferred.
We are seeking individuals who are agile thinkers that embrace change and experiment while being highly organized and hospitable at the same time. Openness to new ideas and the ability to modify existing programs and develop new programs are highly valued qualities for this role. If you match these characteristics and wish to join a supportive team that takes pride in mutual growth, please submit a cover letter and resume with a summary of demonstrable accomplishments.
Just as we aim to support a diverse audience, Kunsthall Trondheim considers equity and belonging to be a foundation of institutional excellence. As such, we not only welcome, but encourage anyone with talent and drive to apply.
