The collective’s mission includes facilitating critical discourse, creating professional opportunities, and fostering connections within Indigenous communities and the arts sector.
Position Overview
The Indigenous Curatorial Collective seeks a dedicated, experienced Program Manager for the Digital Publications Project. This crucial role involves overseeing digital publishing initiatives. The Program Manager will ensure integration of Indigenous perspectives and copyright considerations. They will collaborate with Indigenous editors, artists, curators, and writers, aligning the project with the collective’s values and goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution, and management of digital publication initiatives.
- Collaborate with Indigenous professionals to center Indigenous voices in publications.
- Manage copyright and intellectual property for digital publications.
- Oversee digital publishing platform development and maintenance.
- Ensure timely content submission and provide digital content creation guidance.
- Coordinate editing, formatting, and design for engaging digital publications.
- Work with the Communications Coordinator for effective promotion.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Support Indigenous-led capacity-building, workshops, and knowledge-sharing.
- Collaborate with the team, including remote work and virtual meetings.
- Attend in-person meetings and events, including travel when required.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Indigenous knowledge and cultural protocols.
- Experience with Indigenous professionals in the arts.
- Proficiency in digital project management.
- Knowledge of copyright issues related to Indigenous content.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with medium supervision.
- Availability for remote meetings and travel.
- Arts and cultural sector experience is beneficial.
- Preference for experience with Indigenous organizations or communities.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is beneficial.
- Relevant post-secondary education is beneficial.
Terms
- Contract Duration: Two years (reviewed after 6 and 12 months), up to 27 hours per week.
- Salary: Up to $55,000 per year, including employment-related costs.
