Knight Foundation seeks a Program Professional in Arts to support grantmaking and grants management aimed at strengthening cultural infrastructure and fostering thriving communities through arts and culture. The role involves operational, research, and logistical support, relationship management with partners and grantees, and collaboration across the foundation to advance cultural vibrancy and economic mobility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support investment in people and organizations driving thriving communities
  • Coordinate and implement arts and culture infrastructure initiatives
  • Monitor grantee deadlines, manage documentation, and organize insights for learning
  • Maintain relationships with cultural intermediaries, municipal partners, and networks
  • Collaborate across foundation teams on strategic intersections between arts, information, and mobility
  • Work with communications to amplify impact
  • Co-design programs supporting artist sustainability and cultural ecosystems
  • Support convenings, open calls, sponsorships, and grantee engagement
  • Manage portfolios focused on creative hubs, public spaces, and organizational capacity
  • Advance policy strategies for community-driven placemaking and placekeeping
  • Ensure accurate and timely grantmaking workflows

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills across in-person, phone, email, and social media
  • Collaborative mindset and community-oriented approach
  • Experience in arts, culture, community engagement, and systems thinking
  • Ability to build and leverage diverse networks
  • Background in arts and culture nonprofit, private, or public sector
  • Commitment to Knight Foundation’s values of free expression, innovation, and civic engagement
