The V&A is the world’s leading museum of art and design. We enrich people’s lives by promoting the practice of design and increasing knowledge, understanding and enjoyment of the designed world. Supporting contemporary artists, designers and makers has always been at the heart of the V&A’s mission. For over a decade, the V&A’s Residency Programme has enabled creative practitioners to gain unique access to the Museum’s collections, archives and curatorial expertise to enrich and inspire their practice. A hallmark of residencies at the V&A is public engagement – practitioners work alongside specialist museum educators to design and deliver open studios, workshops, resources, and temporary displays for a broad range of audiences.
We are seeking a Programme Manager to manage this high-profile and ambitious programme of residencies, taking the strategic lead and continuing to build committed alumni of prior residents. A strong collaborator, the post-holder will support residents through the programme, liaising with colleagues across the museum and wider sector to deliver high quality experiences for the individuals, and imaginative public engagement opportunities for audiences.
You will have a strong knowledge of the art forms represented in the V&A collections as well as an understanding of creative practice and collaborating with creative practitioners. You will have excellent skills in project and budget management and work well to tight deadlines in a fast-paced and creative environment.
This is a part time role working 4 days per week, Tuesday – Friday.
Interviews will take place on Wednesday 30 October 2018.
