This opportunity offers a part-time, fixed-term position as Project Curator at The Hepworth Wakefield, covering a maternity leave. The role involves supporting the Artistic Director in the delivery of a major temporary exhibition opening in May 2027, contributing to all stages including research, planning, administration, installation, publication, and public programming.
Position Details
- Fixed-term contract (July 2026 – June 2027)
- Part-time: 2–3 days per week (15–22.5 hours)
- Full-time (5 days / 37 hours) during installation in May 2027
- Salary: £35,250 per annum pro rata

Eligibility Criteria
For Curators and Art Professionals
- Extensive experience in a curatorial role
- Strong exhibition-making experience from concept to delivery
- Ability to work closely with senior leadership (Artistic Director)
- Solid research and critical thinking skills
For Organisational and Communication Skills
- Excellent project management and administrative skills
- Experience coordinating complex timelines and logistics
- Strong writing skills for publications and interpretation
- Ability to contribute to learning and public programmes
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Artistic Director in delivering a major exhibition
