2021 Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition
The Helpmann Academy is pleased to invite applications from emerging visual artists and curators, to take on the role of Project Curator for the 2021 Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition.

The Successful applicant will be working under Curatorial Mentor, Patrice Sharkey (Artistic Director, ACE Open) on all curatorial aspects of the exhibition.
As mentee, the selected curator will be engaged to work on the exhibition from selections, designing the layout, working with artists, and installation and de-installation.
The Project Curator will be engaged from December 2020 – February 2021. Remuneration for the role is $1,500.
This role provides a unique opportunity for an emerging curator to gain hands-on experience working on a high-profile exhibition that brings together graduating artists working in many mediums. The Project Curator will be empowered to develop and broaden their understanding of how to design a space, communicate with exhibiting artists, and oversee installation. They will develop their skills in creating a cohesive, impactful exhibition with works that speak to different themes and ideas.
Working closely with Patrice Sharkey, and Helpmann Academy’s Program and Events Manager, the selected applicant will have good communication, and problem-solving skills, and be dedicated and flexible.
This significant opportunity allows the successful applicant to further develop or kick-start their curatorial career. Applicants from a CALD or ATSI background are encouraged to apply.
