The Yale Center for British Art (YCBA) seeks a highly motivated Project Manager to support the activities of the Academic Affairs, Education, and Research Division. This position reports to the Deputy Director for Academic Affairs and plays a critical role in managing and executing various projects and programs that promote knowledge about British art. The Project Manager will contribute to initiatives involving course development, research, publication projects, and student-focused activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management: Design and oversee projects that support the division’s strategic goals, ensuring the timely completion of deliverables.
  • Research and Writing: Conduct research related to the museum’s collection and programs, write reports, proposals, and scholarly texts, and assist with the development of publications.
  • Course Development & Teaching: Create and teach object-focused courses, co-teach classes, and support student engagement through various initiatives.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work with various departments within the museum and across Yale University to advance divisional goals.
  • Event Organization: Plan and manage conferences, symposia, and other academic initiatives.
  • Administration: Supervise undergraduate and graduate students, and manage correspondence and committee work.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with at least four years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills and proficiency with project planning tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of art history or a related field in the humanities.
  • Self-direction and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in art history or a related humanities field.
  • Five years of related work experience in a museum environment.
