Role Overview
The British Museum is seeking a Project Manager to join the team responsible for high-profile temporary exhibitions. This role involves close collaboration with internal departments, designers, contractors, and external partners to deliver innovative, audience-centered exhibitions. The Project Manager will oversee all aspects of exhibition planning and execution, including budgeting and post-project evaluation.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and manage delivery teams for exhibitions, ensuring input from relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Define and communicate clear project objectives, timelines, and critical milestones.
- Develop financial plans, resource allocations, and identify necessary support from both internal staff and external contractors.
- Oversee risk management and ensure issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
About You
- Qualifications: Degree or equivalent experience.
- Experience: Proven experience managing public-facing projects with multi-disciplinary teams, including skills in risk management, budget oversight, and issue resolution.
- Communication: Strong communicator at all levels, with persuasive skills to achieve buy-in from stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Strong facilitator and organizer, able to manage multiple project elements simultaneously.
