
Project Objects Conservator

The successful candidate for this position must have a graduate degree in conservation, or its equivalent. Experience examining and treating objects of various media desired. The candidate must have good interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to plan ahead for loans, gallery installations, and exhibitions, including providing work schedules and budgets; and the ability to be a team player and participate in the overall goals of the conservation department and the Museum.
Responsibilities: The Project Objects Conservator will examine, document, and treat the collection for display; maintain conservation records; conduct basic analysis; authenticate objects in the collection; condition possible acquisitions; advise on proper installation, storage, and shipment; inventory and order supplies; and complete other duties as assigned.
Reports to: Carol Lee Shen Chief Conservator
Starting date: September 8, 2015
Work schedule: 35 hours per week, 5 days per week (Monday through Friday), 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This is a one-year position.
Salary: $35,000 per year
