Position Summary
The Project Specialist for Exhibitions and Galleries will organize, manage, and report on activities that support visitor-centered exhibition and gallery development. This role works closely with senior exhibition leaders and various teams to coordinate project updates, advisory meetings, and community consultations. The position is involved in strategic initiatives and oversees daily operations related to content creation.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update protocols for evolving practices and new insights.
- Coordinate communications, contracts, honoraria, participant travel, and meetings for community advisory events.
- Administer and report on content-generating activities for exhibition ideation, proposals, design, and interpretation.
- Coordinate the development and maintenance of interpretive planning, design standards, exhibition databases, and digital-IP support.
- Manage proposal calls, reviews, workflow schedules, and team coordination for gallery projects.
- Oversee administrative tasks including scheduling, meeting coordination, procurement, budget tracking, and exhibition scheduling.
Qualifications
- A three-year college degree or university degree in business or a culture-related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least five years of experience in managing and coordinating programming or exhibition content.
- Proven ability to develop reports and distill key research insights for various stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and excellent judgment.
- Experience in workflow development, budgeting, and exercising budgetary control.
- Strong interpersonal skills for working with cross-departmental colleagues.
- Ability to manage relationships with diverse community members sensitively.
- Understanding of DEAI principles applicable to exhibition content development and culturally responsive practices.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS, related database software, and web-based survey tools (e.g., SurveyMonkey, MS Forms).
- Non-English language proficiency is an asset.

- Salary: $66,022 – $75,453
- Schedule: Up to 35 hours per week
- Probationary Period: Six months
