About Human Activities Human Activities is an art institute founded by artist Renzo Martens. The institute aims to demonstrate that art addressing economic inequality can tangibly redress inequality. The work spans art, film, ecology, and regenerative agriculture. Based in Amsterdam, the organization collaborates internationally. In partnership with the Congolese organization le Cercle d’Art des Travailleurs de Plantation Congolaise (CATPC), Human Activities develops an ecological, inclusive post-plantation model, funded by art. The White Cube museum in Lusanga, DRC, was opened in 2017. CATPC and Renzo Martens represent the Netherlands in this year’s Venice Biennale.

Responsibilities

  • Support two Project Coordinators in coordinating projects within the White Cube museum program.
  • Coordinate international exhibitions and screenings in collaboration with CATPC and their gallery.
  • Manage international travel arrangements for artists.
  • Archive and organize images, videos, and press articles.
  • Create and publish social media content.
  • Update and improve websites.
  • Tasks may be adjusted based on interests and project availability.

Requirements

  • Affinity or connection with Congo, Africa, or the global south.
  • Enthusiasm for the tasks and mission.
  • Proficiency in social media.
  • Residence in or near Amsterdam.
  • Excellent command of English; basic French is preferred.
