moCa Cleveland is seeking a Public Programs and Exhibitions Manager to design and deliver public programmes while supporting the development of exhibitions and artist projects.
Reporting to the Deputy Director and Senior Curator, the role centres on connecting audiences with contemporary art. Approximately 65% of the position focuses on public engagement, with the remaining 35% devoted to exhibition work.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver artist talks, performances, tours and other public programmes.
- Manage programme content, budgets, schedules, logistics and evaluation.
- Build partnerships and work with artists, speakers and community organisations.
- Present talks and tours for public and specialist audiences.
- Support exhibition research, checklists, loan requests, image rights, interpretation and publications.
- Coordinate with artists, curators, vendors and colleagues to keep exhibitions on schedule.
- Contribute writing for the museum’s digital and editorial platforms.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should have at least five years of progressive experience overseeing public engagement, education, outreach or community programming, preferably within a nonprofit organisation. Experience supporting exhibition or artist projects, managing budgets and coordinating partners is also required.
A relevant bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred. Candidates without one may qualify through additional direct experience. The role requires strong writing, communication and project management skills, knowledge of contemporary art, and familiarity with museum exhibition practices.
