Publicity Intern
Job Description
MACK in London seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic Publicity Intern. The intern will assist with outreach for our acclaimed contemporary art, critical theory, film, and architecture books.
This entry-level role is ideal for excellent communicators eager to start a career in publishing and learn about art book production. Former MACK press interns have advanced into various company areas, including communications, marketing, events, and editorial.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Press and Events Manager.
- Send advance copies of new books to editors and journalists.
- Create and distribute newsletters about new books.
- Distribute publicity materials to journalists, including press releases, PDFs, images, and more.
- Manage ongoing publicity reporting to the MACK team and authors.
- Research new press contacts to support relationships with key journalists and editors.
- Assist in securing media coverage for books, including newspapers, magazines, TV, radio, podcasts, and more.
Skills
- No previous publicity experience required.
- Proven enthusiasm for contemporary art book publishing and MACK’s publications.
- Ability to multitask and be proactive.
- Excellent communication and organization skills.
- Team player eager to learn about publishing.
Details
- Salary: £27,000 per annum, pro rata.
- Part-time (two days per week) for six months, based in our studio in S.E. London.
- Direct reporting to the Press and Events Manager.
- Start date: As soon as possible.
