R&D Associate/Two-year grant funded position
Responsibilities:
- Act as a co-lead in initiating, coordinating, and executing a range of initiatives in the R&D space, especially the MoMA R&D Salons.
- Maintain the MoMA R&D Salons website.
- Research topics, companies, individuals, and technologies of immediate and long-term relevance to MoMA R&D.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of trends and changes in arts and culture.
- Keep track of pertinent topics in publications, blogs, and social networks.
- Provide administrative support to the Director of R&D.
- Serve as the liaison with other areas of the Museum, such as the curatorial departments, IT, Marketing and Communications, Development, Membership, and Web3.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in communications, journalism, design criticism, or other curricula that straddle arts and culture, social studies, and communication.
- Knowledgeable and self-assured in using contemporary media.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and research and organizational skills.
- Highly motivated, strong attention to detail.
- Familiar with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Mac Keynote and other Mac software, social media, basic Photoshop and Indesign.
- Enthusiasm in working with a team, and ability to manage more than one project at a time and to meet deadlines.
- Two-year experience in managing projects such as conferences or symposia preferred.
- Fully vaccinated with a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and/or the World Health Organization authorized vaccine (or approved for an exemption as a reasonable accommodation due to a qualified disability or sincerely held religious belief or other legal basis).
Salary: The salary for this position is 70,000$/year.
