Pivô and Salta Art are offering a residency for curators, cultural workers, and professional contemporary visual artists from Munich and the Munich S-Bahn area. The residency will run from August 5 to November 2, 2025. Participants will engage in activities such as curatorial guidance, master classes, one-on-one meetings with guest speakers, workshops, and more. The residency includes a monthly stipend, material expenses, accommodation, and a studio space. A round-trip economy flight from Munich to São Paulo will also be covered.
Application Requirements:
- Eligibility: Applicants must live and work in Munich and the Munich S-Bahn area. Previous Pivô residency holders are ineligible.
- Experience: The residency is aimed at professionals with exhibitions, reviews, awards, or works included in collections—those still developing their body of work.
- Languages: A good level of spoken English is required, and some activities will be in Portuguese.
- Documents Needed: Personal information, reference contact, biography (max 200 words), CV (max 4 pages), motivation letter (min 200 words), project description, and portfolio.
Criteria for Selection:
- Relevance and originality of the project.
- Coherence and viability of the proposal.
- Connection to past residency projects.
- Artistic practice description (max 500 words) and samples of work.
Benefits:
- Monthly stipend of €800.
- Material expenses up to €700.
- Accommodation and studio space for the residency period.
- Travel expenses (round-trip economy ticket from Munich to São Paulo).
- Reimbursement for additional research activities and an honorarium.
Working Conditions:
- The residency includes a shared studio space with basic furniture and access to Pivô’s library and workshop tools.
- Curatorial follow-up and participation in Pivô’s public and educational activities, including workshops and master classes.
- The residency culminates in an Open Studios event to share research and creative processes with the public.
Selection Process:
The selection will be made by the Salta Art Jury and one representative from Pivô. Selected candidates will be informed by the end of February 2025.
