Open Call for Curators Based in Central and West Africa

Application deadline: 30 August 2026, 11:59 pm (BST)
Location: Delfina Foundation, London, United Kingdom
Residency season: 5 January–28 March 2027
Residency duration: Six or twelve weeks
Eligibility: Curators who hold nationality and are currently based in an eligible Central or West African country
Experience required: At least five years of professional curatorial practice
Support: Provided by Delfina Foundation’s Network of Patrons for Africa

The Residency

Delfina Foundation invites applications from curators based in Central and West Africa for a six- or twelve-week residency in London.

The selected applicant or applicants will participate in Delfina Foundation’s winter 2027 residency season, taking place between 5 January and 28 March 2027.

The opportunity is supported by Delfina Foundation’s Network of Patrons for Africa.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Hold nationality in one of the eligible Central or West African countries
  • Be currently based in one of the eligible countries
  • Have at least five years of professional curatorial experience

Relevant experience may have been developed through freelance, academic or institutional curatorial work.

Applicants must satisfy both the nationality and current residence requirements.
