Introduction
The Institute for Public Architecture (IPA) is on the lookout for a Residency Manager to oversee its programming and facilities on Governors Island. This role is at the forefront, representing the IPA to the public and coordinating with staff, fellows, and local organizations.
Key Responsibilities
The Residency Manager will organize and implement the IPA’s Independent Project Residency and Selected Topic Fellowship. The role involves close collaboration with fellows, planning events, and managing the IPA’s physical spaces. This position offers a chance to contribute significantly to the IPA’s growth and future direction.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate has over two years of relevant experience, a deep commitment to the IPA’s mission, and strong interpersonal skills. A background in architecture, urban design, or related fields is essential, along with experience in non-profit operations within New York City.
Preferred Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Google Nonprofits Suite
- Experience with Airtable and Mailchimp
- Capabilities in event planning and facilitation
Location and Housing
The position is based on Governors Island, with year-round housing provided at the Block House. While on-site residence is not mandatory, proximity for commuting is essential.
