Residency Program Open Call
2025-26 Mucem/Iméra
The Mucem/Iméra Residency invites artists, architects, researchers, scenographers, and professionals in museology and heritage to apply for the 2025-26 residency program, offering a collaborative research opportunity at Mucem (Marseille). Applicants will work on projects connected to the museum’s collections and exhibitions, focusing on ethnographic and museological topics. The residency, lasting five months, will run from September 1, 2025, to January 30, 2026.
Eligibility
Applicants must be artists or scientists who have not resided in France for more than 12 months in the past three years. Scientists must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent and be employed by a foreign university or research institution. There are no specific degree or employment requirements for artists.
Residency Focuses
- Research on Mucem’s collections for exhibitions such as “Mediterranean, Inventions and Representations” or “How the Mediterranean Looks at Europe.”
- Rethink artist interventions in society museums through participatory workshops based on documentary data.
- Conduct research on Fort Saint-Jean, with the opportunity to create an exhibition in the fort’s outdoor spaces or officer’s gallery.
Remuneration
- Scientists: Juniors: €2,000/month, Seniors: €2,500/month.
- Artists: €2,000/month.
Travel expenses and accommodation at the Iméra site are covered.
