Rave Scholarship – Cultural Heritage & Museum Transformation

Location: Germany (host institution required)
The Rave Scholarship supports cultural practitioners from DAC-listed countries to undertake a 3–6 month placement at a non-commercial host institution in Germany. The programme focuses on cultural heritage, collections, and the transformation of museums and exhibition spaces, encouraging transcultural dialogue, knowledge exchange, and long-term collaboration.
Scholarship Format
- Duration: 3–6 months (between February – December 2027)
- On-site placement at a museum, archive, or cultural/research institution in Germany
- Optional reciprocal stay (2–12 weeks) for German partners in the applicant’s home country
- Maximum of 10 scholarships awarded annually
Eligibility Criteria
- Curators, restorers, mediators, and cultural managers
- Based in a country on the DAC list
- Completed higher education or vocational training
- Professional engagement with cultural heritage, collections, or archives
- Strong English skills (German is an advantage)
- Must secure a non-commercial host institution and develop a joint project proposal
Funding & Benefits
- €1,500/month stipend
- Travel costs (round trip) and visa fees
