The Alexander Rave Foundation supports practical education in the fields of fine art, design, architecture, and cultural history. Scholarships are awarded to young curators, restorers, museum technicians, and cultural managers from transformation or developing countries. These scholarships enable recipients to participate in a guest period, practical training, or unpaid work at a museum, non-commercial gallery, or cultural institution in Germany.
Who Can Apply?
Rave Scholarships are available for individuals working in the following fields:
- Curators

Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must be from a transformation or developing country and be permanently resident there, except for temporary stays abroad (e.g., residencies or scholarships).
- A non-commercial partner institution in Germany (museum, gallery, or cultural institution) must be secured for a guest period beginning in 2024/2025 and ending in 2025.
- Applicants must have completed their studies or professional training.
- Applicants cannot receive another scholarship or complete another residency during the same period.
- Good written and spoken English or German skills are required.
What Does the Rave Scholarship Include?
The Rave Scholarship is a working scholarship that requires attendance on-site in Germany. The scholarship includes:
- A monthly lump sum of 1,500 EUR for a period of three to six months.
- Travel expenses for arrival and departure, with a maximum of 130 EUR per one-way trip.
- Health insurance coverage.
- A German language course.
