The McNay Art Museum, a museum of modern and contemporary art, is offering a ten-month fellowship in museum studies beginning in the fall of 2025 (start date to be determined). The goal of the fellowship is to prepare individuals interested in embarking on a curatorial career by providing significant experience in several areas of specialization, including work with the collection, exhibitions, publications, and programs. The successful candidate works directly with the McNay’s Head of Curatorial Affairs.

The fellowship program has a strong record of success, with previous fellows currently holding positions at museums, academic institutions, and arts and culture organizations across the US.

Applicants should have a master’s degree in art history, art criticism, museum studies, curatorial practice, or a related field; excellent written and oral communication skills; computer proficiency; and research skills. Interest in and knowledge of contemporary art, and experience working directly with artists are both a plus. The salary for this ten-month, full-time fellowship is $33,000.
