About the Role
The Senior Arts & Culture Officer will assist the Service Manager in the comprehensive delivery of the Arts and Culture service, overseeing, coordinating, and implementing key programs identified in the upcoming five-year Culture Strategy. Responsibilities include leading borough-wide arts and culture programs, managing cultural funding applications, and collaborating with internal teams to promote the role of arts and culture in key service areas such as public health, regeneration, and sports and leisure. The role also involves project management, stakeholder engagement, and briefing Ward Councillors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Service Manager in delivering the Arts and Culture service.
- Lead and deliver borough-wide arts and culture programs.
- Manage cultural funding applications and a culture fund.
- Champion the role of arts and culture in key service areas.
- Support the administration, coordination, financial, and project management of arts and culture projects.
- Work with Ward Councillors to brief them on programs of work.
About You
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual with experience in implementing cultural policy and coordinating arts and cultural projects within a local authority, museum, gallery, or community context. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering large-scale arts events and festivals, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
