An exciting opportunity has come up at the Design Museum for a Senior Curator to play a key role in shaping and delivering the forthcoming exhibitions programme at the new museum, which opens in west London in 2016.

Working at the world’s leading museum dedicated to design and architecture, the Senior Curator will be a senior member of the exhibitions team with responsibility for delivering audience-focused and critically acclaimed exhibitions. S/he will participate in research, development and curation of temporary exhibitions and displays; initiate publications and interpretation; and take an active role harnessing digital engagement within the galleries and online.

The Senior Curator will work with the Chief Curator to research and develop exhibition proposals for the future exhibitions programme; contribute to the development of the museum’s Collection, including new acquisitions; participate in the Public Programme and have input in the MA Curating Contemporary Design, run jointly by Kingston University and the Design Museum.

The person

This role will suit a dynamic, confident individual with solid experience in curating high quality exhibitions that inspire and communicate to a range of audiences. The candidate will also be an excellent communicator, acting as an ambassador for design and architecture on behalf of the museum.
