Role Overview

An experienced curator with a passion for storytelling and the ability to create engaging exhibitions for diverse audiences is sought. The ideal candidate is an innovative thinker with a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of how to make content accessible and captivating. The successful applicant will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing exhibitions that educate, inspire, and captivate visitors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curate and Manage Exhibitions: Develop and oversee exhibitions from concept to installation, ensuring alignment with HOL’s vision and client objectives.
  • Research and Content Development: Conduct thorough research to inform exhibition themes. Collaborate with writers and researchers to produce accurate and compelling content.
  • Design and Interpretive Planning: Work with creative teams to develop interpretive plans and layouts that enhance visitor engagement.
  • Collaborate with Diverse Teams: Coordinate with spatial designers, graphic designers, multimedia technologists, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Project Management: Manage timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Mentor and Guide Teams: Inspire, mentor, and support internal and external teams to foster a collaborative work environment.
  • Engage and Educate: Oversee the development of educational programs and digital engagements that complement exhibitions.
  • Maintain Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on current trends in technology and best practices in curatorial and exhibition design.

Candidate Requirements

  • Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Museum Studies, Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field, with at least 10 years of experience in curatorial work. A strong portfolio in content development for exhibitions is essential, with experience in museums, galleries, or attractions.
  • Skills: Proficiency in analytical research, storytelling, and project management. Strong writing skills for panel texts and a keen aesthetic sense.
  • Creativity: A passion for creating engaging experiences, with curiosity about different disciplines and the latest technologies.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and mentor a team, ensuring successful project outcomes.
  • Commitment: A deep appreciation for storytelling and a strong interest in the field. Demonstrated commitment to contributing to the mission of moving hearts and changing minds.
