The Design Museum is seeking a self-motivated Senior Curator with a strong background in design, architecture, fashion, or technology. This role is central to the museum’s dynamic temporary exhibitions programme, which forms the core of its public-facing activity.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver high-quality exhibitions aligned with the museum’s curatorial vision

Generate original exhibition concepts and further develop existing proposals

Lead on content development, object lists, interpretive materials, and loan negotiations

Oversee project documentation and contribute to smooth coordination with internal teams and designers

Collaborate with institutions, designers, and lenders to secure viable loans and exhibition components

Supervise and support curatorial staff, fostering performance and professional development
Candidate Profile

Degree in design history, art history, or related discipline, or equivalent experience

Solid expertise in design and an active network in the design sector

Strong conceptual and communication skills, both written and verbal

Proven track record in curating exhibitions with successful public engagement

Familiarity with international museum standards regarding loans, conservation, and handling

Experience in project budgeting and administration
