Senior Curator

Salary:  £35,000
Contract: Permanent

We are looking to recruit a creative, knowledgeable and passionate Senior Curator to oversee the display and interpretation of its remarkable collection of Modern British, International and Contemporary art and its renowned programme of temporary exhibitions, installations and events. The candidate should have demonstrable expertise in Modern British art with experience of curating and organising significant exhibitions and projects in order to consolidate the Gallery’s position as one of the leading museums of modern art in the country.

The Senior Curator will be responsible for developing, delivering and managing Pallant House Gallery’s artistic programme in close partnership with the other members of the curatorial team and Director.  You will implement the development and delivery of exhibitions from initiating proposals to completion of the project, organising loans from national and international partners, including galleries and private lenders. As Senior Curator, you will also contribute to the care, research, development and display of the Gallery’s collection. You will manage and deliver displays, events and interpretation across a range of media, including digital, in line with the Gallery’s policies and strategies. As part of the Gallery’s audience development plan you will be expected to increase and broaden audiences through the artistic programme.  You will work collaboratively with colleagues and representatives of other organisations to deliver projects in the Gallery and elsewhere. The Senior Curator will play a key role in the Gallery’s Senior Management Team, acting as a Duty Manager and contributing towards the development and delivery of the Gallery’s strategic and business plans.
