Salary: £48,000 per annum
The Royal Academy of Arts is seeking a Senior Curator to join its Collections team. This key role supports the Head of Collections in shaping curatorial strategy and overseeing the care and interpretation of the Academy’s historic and contemporary collections. The postholder will also play an active part in public engagement through displays, publications, events, and the loans programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on the care, interpretation, and promotion of the RA’s collections
- Develop and deliver displays, exhibitions, and publications
- Contribute to the strategic development of the department
- Engage with the public through talks and programming
- Support the loans programme and cataloguing initiatives
Candidate Requirements
- Extensive curatorial experience in a museum, historic house, or similar institution
- Postgraduate degree in History of Art or a related field, ideally with a focus on British art
- Proven experience in exhibition development and delivery
- Expertise in collection care, research, and documentation
- Strategic thinking, creativity, and leadership ability
