Salary: 24 Hours Per Week | £27,352 Pro Rata

The Koppel Project, a rapidly expanding arts charity, seeks a dynamic and proactive individual for the role of Studios Assistant. This key position supports daily operations in the studio arm and requires a highly efficient, flexible, and reliable professional with excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

Role Description

The selected candidate will enhance the management of studio spaces, assisting early and mid-career artists. Responsibilities include handling front desk enquiries, managing resident communications, and leading studio tours. Additional tasks involve ad hoc activities, potentially leading to increased hours based on demand. The ideal candidate will have a background in space management and a passion for arts management, design, and creative spaces. This role is essential for maintaining a seamless experience for artists and visitors alike, requiring quick thinking and effective problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact, managing studio availability enquiries.
  • Handle email correspondences from studio residents efficiently.
  • Resolve in-person enquiries and conflicts.
  • Conduct engaging tours of studio spaces.
  • Produce floor plans and leaflets to promote the artistic community.
  • Address immediate issues and refurbish vacated spaces.
  • Manage bookings for internal project spaces, community rooms, and gallery spaces.
  • Tend to facilities and maintenance needs reported by studio artists.

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in an arts organisation.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with artists and colleagues.
  • Strong multitasking, attention to detail, and ability to handle various responsibilities.
  • Flexible work approach and quick learning ability.
  • Initiative and ownership of projects.
  • Deadline commitment and innovative idea exploration.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and foster a collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google Suite, Mac OS, and Adobe Suite.
  • Basic DIY skills.
  • Comfort with dogs, as this is a dog-friendly workplace.

Desirable Qualities

  • Artistic background or interest.
  • Proficiency in photography to document studio spaces and events.

  • Up to 20 working days holiday per year, plus standard UK bank and public holidays, pro-rata for part-time staff.
