SOMA Summer is a four-week intensive program for international artists, curators, critics, and art historians. The 2025 edition focuses on the theme “BROTES (Outbreaks)”, inspired by the ethical and political orientation of Brazilian indigenous thinker Ailton Krenak, emphasizing resistance movements rooted in the vast network of life. The program fosters critical reflection and collective creation, offering seminars, workshops, field visits, and collaborative creation focused on global issues such as environmental destruction and alternative forms of resistance.
Requirements
Applicants should have an established artistic practice and be committed to engaging with the program’s theme. The application requires a biography, artist statement, a description of the place the applicant lives in, a portfolio of recent work, and references. Financial aid is available for those in need.

Led by Taniel Morales, Yoshua Okón, Vivian Abenshushan, and Sara Eliassen, alongside renowned artists and curators.
