Interviews: Thursday 8 January 2015

The successful candidate will play a key role assisting the Curator to research and deliver the museum’s new Permanent Collection Display. The display has been fully planned. It now needs to be executed.

This display communicates the museum’s vision, demonstrating the impact of design on everyone’s lives. It offers an examination of design in a new format. It builds on the museum’s four core values: Welcoming, Collaborative, Enterprising and Provocative. This role will suit an individual with good knowledge of design history and experience in researching and developing projects collaboratively.

The Assistant Curator sits within the Exhibitions team, working within the Permanent Collection Display project team which consists of the Curator, Display Designer Studio Myerscough, external Project Manager and is supported by the Design Museum Collection Officer.

Together the team ensure that the museum delivers an agenda-setting Permanent Collection Display for the Design Museum Kensington.

The role will be based at our Shad Thames offices but the post holder will also be required to work at the Kensington office as and when necessary.

The museum offers 25 days annual leave, access to a defined contribution pension scheme, a childcare voucher scheme, season ticket loan, a variety of staff discounts including the museum’s shop and restaurant and free entry to a wide number of museums and galleries in London.
