The Ludwig Forum for International Art Aachen has an academic traineeship in the area of curatorial assistance to fill with immediate effect.
The Ludwig Forum for International Art is a museum for international, contemporary art. It is based on the collection of Peter and Irene Ludwig, which includes key works of global art from the 1960s to the present day. The collection of the Ludwig Forum forms the starting point for a program of exhibitions, events and mediation that is as polyphonic, diverse and transdisciplinary as possible.
The position of curatorial traineeship is designed to enable young art scholars to start their careers after completing their studies by gaining practical experience at an institution of international standing. Within this framework, the applicants should be instructed in the independent processing of collection and exhibition-related tasks.
Tasks
• Participation in the curatorial organization of exhibitions
• Editorial assistance in the creation of publications
• Support for the business and areas of responsibility of the management
What you bring with you
• Completed scientific university studies in the fields of art history, art studies, cultural studies, museology/museum studies or an equivalent university degree
• First practical experience in museum and/or exhibition
work • Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary art
• Very good knowledge of English
• High resilience
• Knowledge of Office applications and image processing
• Structured and independent way of working
• High degree of initiative, reliability and planning and organizational skills
We offer
A position for a period of 2 years. This is rated at 50 percent according to TV-L EG 13 level 1. The weekly worktime is 39 hours.
