Become part of the World Heritage team and get to know all areas of museum work. Your tasks include in particular the participation in the preparation of exhibitions as well as scientific research and catalog maintenance. They support the curators in the development and implementation of the exhibition concepts. In addition, you will actively plan and oversee in-house events such as vernissages or the paradise festival.
The Völklingen Ironworks is the world’s only completely preserved ironworks from the heyday of industrialization and at the same time the first industrial monument of this era to be included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Völklingen Ironworks World Heritage Site presents itself to its visitors today as a highly exciting and fascinating place where the past, present and future meet in a wide variety of ways. With its numerous halls, open spaces and the captivating tangle of pipe systems, it forms a unique setting for international exhibitions, festivals and concerts. Requirements
– a degree in art history, history or related humanities
– in-depth knowledge of contemporary art and culture
– initial practical experience in museums and exhibitions
– very good knowledge of English and French
– confident handling of application software (including MS Office)
– Organizational talent, initiative, creativity, communication and team skills
The traineeships are limited to a period of 2 years. Remuneration is based on the recommendations of the German Museums Association with remuneration group 13, level 1 (50%), based on the TV-L (collective agreement of the federal states).
