The British Ceramics Biennial (BCB) is seeking to recruit a Project Co-ordinator to lead the development and delivery of the Transferer project funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation.

About the role
The Transferer Project Co-ordinator will be joining the learning and participation team of one of the UK’s leading ceramics organisations. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, dynamic and attentive individual seeking to use their skills and experience to deliver BCB’s values of being bold, accountable, welcoming, significant, grounded, inclusive, connected and collaborative.
You will work closely with the Learning & Participation Manager to deliver the Transferer project. Working with partner schools, Transferer is an innovative and exciting project that explores co-creation with young people, building confidence and key skills and cross-curricular approaches to art-based learning. Transferer is developing the learning and success of the Fresh Youth Panel into an 18-month programme engaging with young people. It explores how working with clay, talking about art and creating exhibition spaces can improve their oracy and critical thinking. Groups from each school will be part of weekly artist-led sessions encouraging them to explore their thoughts and reflect on their experiences in order to build their confidence to critically engage with artworks. Throughout the project, they will reflect on their learning and journey to help shape the progress and delivery of the project.
Role breakdown
- Title: Transferer Project Co-ordinator
- Reports to: Learning & Participation Manager
- Fee: £19,500 (130 days @ £150/day)
- Contract: Fixed Term – April 2023 to July 2024 – Freelance
- Location: Based at Staffordshire University, Stoke-on-Trent, BCB Studio, Spode Works, and in schools for workshop delivery
