London Gallery Weekend Travel Bursaries

London Gallery Weekend (LGW) unites the galleries of London, showcasing exhibitions by major international names and emerging artists, alongside a public programme featuring receptions, tours, performances, and artist talks. For the fourth year, Art Fund and London Gallery Weekend are partnering to offer small grants that support travel and accommodation costs for curators from regional museums across the UK to attend LGW, 6–8 June 2025.
What We Can Fund
- Included:
- Accommodation arranged by London Gallery Weekend at a Central London hotel.
- Travel to and from London (including public transport while in London).
- Not Included:
- Per diems, meals, and beverages.
- Transportation to/from train stations or airports.
Who Can Apply
- Eligibility:
- Curators working in acquisitions, programming exhibitions, or commissioning artists at public museums, galleries, visual arts festivals, historic houses, libraries, or archives based outside of London.
- Organisations must be open at least half the week for at least six months of the year.
- Organisations should be fully or provisionally accredited through the Arts Council Accreditation scheme or other national equivalents.
- Applicants should represent organisations that hold collections (e.g., contemporary art, fine and applied art and design, archaeology, social history) and are committed to increasing public access to these collections.
- Exclusions:
- Organisations that exist solely for profit, including Private Limited Companies, Public Limited Companies, Unlimited Companies, Sole Traders, General Partnerships, Limited Partnerships, or Limited Liability Partnerships.

- Sustainability:
- Applicants are encouraged to undertake travel in an environmentally sustainable manner. Please refer to our Green Travel Policy and the Gallery Climate Coalition’s Climate Conscious Travel page for resources and support to reduce travel’s environmental impacts.
- Networking:
- In addition to funding travel and accommodation, LGW will facilitate networking opportunities to help funding recipients build connections with London galleries, other UK museums, and the artists they support.
