The National Gallery is seeking a pro-active, flexible and knowledgeable individual for 6 months to assist the Curatorial Department with the sifting and listing of papers during its move to new offices. This will feed into key deliverables for the Digital Dossier Programme (DDP), an ambitious research infrastructure and knowledge-enabling change programme that aims to make ‘everything we know about our pictures available to everyone’.
We are looking for someone with a degree-level qualification in the history of art, with an emphasis on painting in the western European tradition between the late middle ages and early modernism; excellent formal written English; immaculate data-entry skills; and excellent IT skills. Knowledge of the Gallery’s collection, and some experience of archive or museum documentation work, including data entry, would be an advantage.
