Verein K is pleased to announce the call for applications for the residency program Visiting Curators Vienna 2026.

For its eighth edition, four international mid-career curators will be selected based on the quality of their previous work and the strength and relevance of the exhibition project(s) they submit.

The Residency

Selected curators will spend ten days in Vienna (16–25 November 2026) engaging directly with artists, institutions, independent spaces, and cultural practitioners.

The aim of the program is to foster meaningful international connections and create sustainable opportunities for artists based in Austria.

Travel and accommodation costs, as well as per diems, will be covered by Verein K.

Who Should Apply

Verein K welcomes curators who:

Selection will take into account gender balance and diversity. There is no thematic restriction.

The working language of the program is English.

Commitment

As strengthening the international visibility of artists based in Austria is a core objective of the program, participants are expected to keep Verein K informed about the development and realization of their proposed projects.

If any changes affect the feasibility of the proposal, Verein K must be notified promptly.

The program is supported by the Federal Ministry of the Republic of Austria for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport, the City of Vienna, and Bildrecht.
