About the residency
The SITE Toronto Winter 2026 Residency is a three-month programme open to artists and curators.
Two residents will be selected: one based in Toronto and one based elsewhere. The Toronto-based resident will receive support to undertake research and/or professional development travel related to their practice. The visiting resident will receive funding for travel to Toronto and accommodation throughout the residency.
Support provided
Each resident will receive:
- A CAD $3,000 residency stipend
- Travel funding of up to CAD $1,500
- A private studio in Toronto
- Dedicated one-to-one mentorship with an artist, curator, or other cultural practitioner of their choice
- The opportunity to develop a SITE Edition as a limited-edition artwork
- The opportunity to conceive and present a public programme with SITE and its partner organisations
- The potential to develop a publication connected to the residency
- Access to SITE’s network of artists, curators, academics, galleries, nonprofit organisations, and cultural partners
The visiting resident will also receive accommodation in a private Toronto apartment for the full duration of the programme.
Selection process
Applications will be reviewed by SITE Toronto and an external selection committee comprising arts professionals and programme partners.
Shortlisted applicants may be invited to an online interview during the week commencing 21 September 2026.
