Introduction
Join the transdisciplinary workshop, “The Art of AI: Narratives, Creativities, and Ethics,” at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florenz – Max-Planck-Institut. Hana Gründler and Rafael Uriarte are organizing this event.
Workshop Overview
This workshop will guide participants through the history of automata, robots, androids, and artificial intelligence. It starts with ancient myths and moves through history to modern times. Attendees will explore how these concepts have evolved and influenced society’s views on AI.
Critical Reflections
The event will critically analyze AI’s portrayal in visual culture and literature from antiquity to today. It will challenge current notions of creativity and explore the boundaries of machine innovation.
Ethical and Societal Questions
The workshop will address the ethical and societal impacts of AI advancements. It aims to merge historical insights with philosophical and technical perspectives. The focus will be on understanding AI’s implications on everyday life and its potential risks.
Participation and Submission
Interested individuals can present a 20-minute talk on related topics. To participate, send an abstract of up to 2000 characters and a short CV in English to gruendler@khi.fi.it and rafael.uriarte@khi.fi.it by March 4, 2024.
