Overview: The Malba Writers Residence is organized by the Literature Department of the Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires. This program provides foreign writers an urban and cultural immersion in Buenos Aires, facilitating professional and artistic development. Writers will engage with the city’s cultural life and participate in activities fostering collaboration among authors, publishers, and cultural managers.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Open to foreign writers (specific grants available for writers from Chile, Italy, and Spain).
- Applicants must have published at least three books (novels, short stories, poetry, children’s literature, or literary non-fiction). Academic papers and self-published works are excluded.
- Writers should submit a motivation letter and a clear plan for their residency.
- Spanish proficiency is desirable but not mandatory; works translated into Spanish are preferred.
- Argentine writers residing abroad are not eligible.
- Writers must work independently, be capable of navigating the city autonomously, and dedicate their time to a manuscript during their stay.
